For the purpose of my research, a ‘virtual tour’ will be a series on inter-linked immersive scans, allowing the viewer to:

• appreciate the context of smaller exhibits
• virtually ‘tour’ larger spaces using interlinked scans

These maybe achieved via either proprietary Spheron Scene Center software for locally hosted versions or third party solutions for web based solutions.

Up until October 21st, 2015 I had no experience of web-based ‘virtual tours’ or web published ‘immersive views’

The successful test publication for one of the partners was re-assuring.
