I encouraged students to look at an alternative solution to Dassault’s SolidWorks

This practice carried on from my UK experience, where we encouraged students to look at alternative software platforms, so they were not reliant upon one.

Of particular interest was the direct relationship between modelling and 3D printing.

Fusion 360 seems to be gaining traction due to its ‘social media’ type interface and certainly seems quite intuitive compared to SolidWorks.
